Honouring West Ham’s historic home through an emotional 360° tribute

For over a century, West Ham United called the Boleyn Ground home. As the club prepared to move to a new stadium, fans faced the end of an era. Working with West Ham United, we created #ImagineBoleyn – a 360º film capturing the emotion and atmosphere of matchday at Upton Park, preserving its legacy for generations of supporters.

The challenge

Since 1904, the Boleyn Ground had stood at the heart of West Ham United’s story. After 112 years, the club’s move to a new stadium marked a major moment in its history – and an emotional farewell for fans. The challenge was to create a tribute that did justice to the ground’s significance and allowed supporters to relive its final moments. The film needed to capture not only the sights of the stadium but also the passion, pride and anticipation that defined match day. Our goal was to deliver a lasting digital keepsake that would resonate across the football community.

The process

We produced a 360º film that took viewers inside the Boleyn Ground during the charged moments before the final FA match. Using access to rarely seen areas, from the changing rooms and players’ tunnel to the pitch itself, we created an immersive experience that celebrated every corner of the club’s home. Narrated by lifelong fan Ray Winstone, the film combined rich visuals and authentic emotion to honour more than a century of football heritage. Shared across social media, #ImagineBoleyn gave fans a powerful new way to say goodbye to the ground they loved.

The outcome

#ImagineBoleyn struck a chord with West Ham supporters and the wider football community. The film went viral online, achieving over 350,000 views on Facebook and more than 85,000 on YouTube within just two weeks.

Its authentic storytelling and emotional tone helped encapsulate the spirit of the club’s farewell, offering fans a moving way to celebrate the end of an era. By blending immersive 360º video with heartfelt narration, the project ensured the legacy of the Boleyn Ground would live on – giving supporters something truly special to remember.

“Utilising 360 video technology has allowed us to create a spectacular interactive experience that gives fans the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the players as they emerge from the tunnel on match-day. Our partnership with Ricoh and Infinite Form has enabled us to produce a stunning piece of content that we sincerely hope will make our fans proud but will also capture the imagination of the wider football community.”
