Data capture for the modern family
The Task
Kantar Media is a global leader in media intelligence – providing their clients with data to help them make informed decisions on all aspects of media. Their ‘Innovation Suite’ includes a full family home setup, which showcases the types of data they can capture, from smart fridges to TV. They were after a 360º video to demonstrate their Innovation Suite to clients, broadcasters and at trade shows – when access to the real suite wouldn’t be available. Their agency, Napoleon Creative, came to us.

The Outcome
We filmed the Innovation Suite with a family in situ – showing what family life looks like in a “smart house”. We captured the family using all the technology a family would have – such as an Xbox and TV – and then added interactive hotspots to the final film which, when viewed, show a 2D video with a voiceover explaining how data is recorded on each piece of technology and what it could be used for. Each hotspot is sight-activated and essentially provides a series of mini-films in an overall 360º video. Created in spring 2018, we deployed the experience on the recently-released Oculus Go headsets to make it easier and cost-effective for Kantar Media to show their clients.
